Description

The Medicinal Use of Curcumin Goes Back Centuries.
Curcumin is the main part of the Indian spice Turmeric. Turmeric is a member of the same family as ginger. Curcumin has been used as an herbal remedy in ancient Indian and Chinese medicine for centuries. In the traditional Indian system of herbal medicine known as Ayurveda, Curcumin is believed to strengthen the overall energy of the body, relieve gas, dispel worms, regulate menstruation, dissolve gallstones and relieve arthritis. It is a traditional remedy for jaundice, digestive problems and has been used to protect the stomach and to relieve nausea.

In recent years, Curcumin has received increased scientific interest and has been found to have many desirable attributes. The properties of Curcumin can best be summarized as being both a fabulous antioxidant and anti-inflammatory all rolled up into one.

Recent studies have found conclusively that the healing properties of Curcumin include:
• Anti-oxidant properties - neutralizes free radicals
• Lowers cholesterol - blood thinning
• Strengthens the liver
• Anti-inflammatory - stronger than Hydrocortisone

• Anti-bacterial

• Anti-carcinogenic

Curcumin is eight times as potent an antioxidant as Vitamin E.
As a powerful antioxidant, Curcumin has the ability to remove toxic heavy metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium and aluminum from the blood stream. Many pay significant amounts of money to clear these heavy metals from their body, while the use of Curcumin could be an equal and more convenient method with far less expense. Environmental toxins and pollutants are literally neutralized in the presence of Curcumin.

Modern research has shown that Curcumin can help reduce the inflammation caused by chronic degenerative diseases.
In modern day herbology, Curcumin has been tested against steroid drugs to relieve the discomfort and pain of arthritis and found to be equal or even better and certainly tolerated much better.

Cancer experts have suggested that inflammation plays a role in cancer and that anti-inflammatory drugs may reduce the risk of cancer. Since Curcumin reduces inflammation significantly, it makes sense that its use could both prevent and slow down the growth of cancer.

As an anti-carcinogenic, Curcumin targets many biological pathways simultaneously. This property makes it difficult for malignant cells to develop resistance to it. The cancer cells would have to go through several mutations before developing resistance to Curcumin. (Curcumin specifically blocks the NF Kappa B pathway, inhibiting replication and spread of various types of cancer cells.)

In addition, Curcumin effectively prevents precancerous changes with DNA and interferes with enzymes needed for cancer growth. Curcumin's anticancer effects are due, also, to its ability to induce apoptosis (cell death) in cancer cells without cytotoxic effects on healthy cells.

Curcumin has been used at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center as an adjunctive therapy for pancreatic cancer, colon cancer and multiple myeloma. Some researchers suggest cancer patients work themselves up to a daily dose of 8 grams of Curcumin a day.

When rats with mammary cancer were given 200mg/kg of Curcumin each day for just five days, the tumors were significantly inhibited. This would mean that a 165 pound person would have to ingest 15,000 mg of Curcumin on a daily basis - unless you were using Liposomal Curcumin, then you would only need about 1,200 mg. Quite a difference! Just four teaspoons of our Liposomal Curcumin would give you that amount!

Curcumin has also been shown to be effective against an array of inflammatory diseases, including: pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, gastritis, arthritis and allergies. The healing effects of curcumin have been seen in patients with diabetes, autoimmune disorders and cardiovascular diseases.

Scientists consider that Curcumin may be the finest broad spectrum medicine ever known! However, the oral route requires a rather large amount of Curcumin to be effective, because of the difficulty in absorbing it. The conversion of this multi-talented herb into a Liposomal Delivery System offers increased potency, bio-availability and absorption!

With the preponderance of evidence showing the benefits of curcumin, we feel that any person truly concerned about their health should consider curcumin as a part of their daily supplement regimen. We have successfully used curcumin for years in our anti-inflammatory and pain relief products, CMO Plus & Pain-Less. And now, our Liposomal formulation goes a giant step further.

5 of 5 My Doctor was amazed that I am cancer-free! May 25, 2016
Reviewer: Jeannie Ross from Spring Valley, CA United States
In  2008 I was diagnosed with Uterine Leiomyosarcoma stage III with a mitotic count greater than 100 per 10X magnification. During surgery, the tumor was unwittingly morcellated into tiny pieces so microscopic cancer cells spread everywhere, and  I was given a 25% chance of surviving just 5 years. According to M.D. Anderson, chemo and radiation do not work for this type of cancer. Instead I implemented a complete lifestyle change which included a raw vegan diet, juicing, mind-body work, and the use of liposomal Can-Help and Curcumin religiously to prevent the microscopic remains from metastasizing. I have been 4 years completely cancer-free.  My cancer specialist said, "This is remarkable. Remarkable! Keep doing whatever you are doing. A Higher Power is watching over you!"  If I were allowed only one supplement, I would choose liposomal Can-Help and liposomal Cucumin because I am convinced that they have been vital to my recovery and remission.

UPDATE: May 2016 - still cancer-free!

5 of 5 An investment in my future! February 11, 2015
Reviewer: Carol Holly from Holliston, MA
February 10, 2014

To Healthy Items:

I have been taking three liposomal supplements since I was diagnosed with cancer
in May of 2012. As of today I am cancer free, even though my disease is basically
considered "untreatable." I take one tablespoon of Liposomal Curcumin, Resveratrol and Vitamin C daily.
I am now 78 years old and feeling quite healthy and attribute part of my recovery to
these supplements. Curcumin is my favorite with a spicy flavor. I consider them an
investment in my future and worth every penny. Also, ordering them from Hilery is always
a fun experience as she is so pleasant, helpful and understanding.

5 of 5 Lucky me! January 11, 2015
Reviewer: Patrick from Manchester, NJ United States
I was diagnosed in 2010 with stage 4 Melanoma where it traveled to my abdomen, lungs and adrenal gland and almost 5 years later I feel great, live a spunky life and all I could say that during that time I've been taking a teaspoon of can-help and a teaspoon of curcumin every morning!

I have to believe that it's those extracts that are helping me! I also think because they are a Liposomal also helps because I feel it goes right into my system.

Thank You for having these great products available to me and all the other lucky people who know about them! All I could say is lucky me!

5 of 5 Another Great Supplement March 15, 2012
Reviewer: Jim and Sandy from Minneapolis
We feel so fortunate to be able to have this powerful liposomal form of curcumin as part of  our daily supplementation. Curcumin has been studied in thousands of rigorous scientific research projects and has proven itself to be a wonderful protection from sundry degenerative diseases and in large part this seems attributable to its wonderfully effective anti-inflammatory action.  Curcumin, when taken as a regular pill supplement, is not easily absorbed, according to what we have studied; but in a liposomal form, it is much more absorbable and usable by the body and, thus, we believe affords us much better health protection as compared to taking curcumin in regular pill form. We regard Healthy Items Can-Help liposomal formulation and the added liposomal curcumin to be tremendously helpful in our health maintenance and recovery programs.
