Iodine supports the body's ability to resist disease.
Iodine is necessary for the thyroid gland's proper performance. The thyroid gland is located in the front of the lower part of the neck. All the blood in the body passes through the thyroid gland every 17 minutes. During this passage, the gland's secretion of iodine kills the weak germs circulating in the blood. The stronger, more harmful germs are made weaker each time they pass through the thyroid gland, every 17 minutes, until they are finally killed - if the thyroid has an adequate supply of iodine.
